For Writers

The MTSU English Department is proud to support and encourage the development of writers at diverse levels via the following departmental and affiliated programs and initiatives:

• MTSU has a new Public Writing and Rhetoric major!
• We coordinate an interdisciplinary Writing minor that enhances many undergraduate majors.
• We host In-Process, a creative writing event series.
• We offer MTWrite, a non-degree educational program, helping those passionate about writing to enhance their skills and confidence.
• We share Writing News about campus and community events of interest to MTSU writers.
• We created and staff the Margaret H. Ordoubadian University Writing Center, which assists student writers of various experiences, backgrounds, and skill levels in developing responsible, informed writing practices.
• The Writing Center publishes Off Center: A Creative Magazine for the MTSU Community to provide publication opportunities to campus-affiliated poets, writers, designers, photographers, and artists.
